The White Oak Brothers are a Maryland based act with their roots planted deep in the Eastern Shore's muddy river banks. Two best friends since meeting in seventh grade, Mike and Andrew began their musical adventures together before they were old enough to drive. By their late teens, the boys had started a bonafide 5-piece bar band playing shows after school and on the weekends. Since most of their friends weren't even out of high school, and definitely not old enough to get in to bars, the boys honed their craft on the music that was popular with the crowds they were playing for. Albums by Tom Petty, Garth Brooks, Steve Miller, Dave Matthews, Brooks and Dunn, and the Eagles were played on repeat until every chord change and lick was mastered. They quickly grew fond of the music they were playing. They would turn off "new" main-stream music and change the channel to a classic rock or country station. This habit still stays with them today, more than a decade later.
Nowadays, Mike and Andrew have set aside the rock and roll lifestyle with bands full of electric guitars and drums in search for something more in tune with their inner passion for intimate, raw, acoustic, lyrically and melodically captivating, music. Music that "makes you feel something". Each and every song played, every single night, is a song that they connect with down to their core. THIS is the heart and soul of The White Oak Brothers. Sets comprised of back to back to back songs that make you say "I haven't heard this song in forever! I LOVE this song!"
